1954 Selmer Mark VI Tenor Sax - Gold Plated #56,XXX

For sale is a 5 digit Selmer Mark VI Tenor Saxophone from 1954.  This is a very early Mark VI.  This saxophone has non-factory gold-plating which adds richness and warmth to the sound, despite it impacting the crispness of the engraving.  The ergonomics are comfortable and the action is tight and quick.  The neck has 2 brass plates soldered on to provide stability, some say the extra brass on the neck improves the sound. 

This instrument is not factory original, but it has no lack of character and is a fine example of a very early Mark VI Tenor Sax.  Please reach out with any questions.
